The National High School Golf Association (NHSGA) Invitational Championship just concluded on June 30, 2021 in Pinehurst, NC. This premiere invitational event composing of 332 elite junior golfers with 46 teams from all over the US representing their respective States/Territory.
Team Guam (Father Duenas Memorial High School) impressed all by finishing a surprising 11th out of 46th teams competing. This was truly a very proud moment for Guam Junior Golf and the Father Duenas High School Golf programs who we come to represent.
The entire five players contributed to the team’s success. Three of our FD Seniors ended in the top 100 (of 332 players) with our very own Ivan Sablan leading us on his 7th place individual finish. A truly amazing accomplishment.
This opportunity would not have been possible without the financial support of the alumni classes of 2008, 2009, 2010, and the FDMSAA, who have provided such support the past two years. Congratulations to our golf team and to the three clasee for their continued support, giving opportunities to these future Friars to once again be trailblazers for our island community!
